In the beginning
In January 2019 Cornwall Council took on a proactive role in planning and delivering the new integrated community at Langarth.
Rather than allow piecemeal development, the Council allocated £159 million to support the development of a masterplan and key infrastructure for the whole site to help create a vibrant, co-ordinated and sustainable development where people want to live, work and visit. Green and public spaces with new sports, cultural and play areas will offer an attractive and healthy environment for growing and nurturing future communities.
Council & community
In June 2019 the Government included Langarth in its Garden Communities programme and awarded the Council £47.5 million to build the Northern Access Road. Since then we have been working with key partners and the local community to develop a masterplan for the development.
